Description

UV phototherapy is a treatment using ultraviolet rays, the origins of which date back to around 1900, when light therapy was used to treat skin tuberculosis. Over the past 40 years, a significant amount of photobiological research has been conducted, and numerous scientific publications have been prepared, highlighting the effectiveness of UV phototherapy in treating skin diseases. This form of therapy has established itself as a proven and therapeutically effective method of treating many skin diseases, such as psoriasis, lichen, atopic dermatitis and various eczemas.

UV rays have a calming effect on the immune system. This can help relieve inflammatory skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis. In psoriasis, radiation can stop the increased production of skin cells and their flaking.

Dermalight® – these are high-quality, reliable, German-made, general-purpose medical UV radiation devices, the effectiveness of which is based on clinical studies. Irradiation is carried out using electronically controlled radiation modules equipped with special medical fluorescent lamps. UV-B narrowband spectrum radiation (305-315 nm wavelength) is considered to be particularly effective in psoriasis. UV-A (340-400 nm wavelength) works particularly well in atopic dermatitis. The phototherapy procedure is very simple – it lasts about 1-5 minutes, depending on the nature of the disease, the patient's skin type, and the irradiation dose, and is repeated 3-5 times a week.

With the right dose and duration of treatment, the appearance of the skin can be significantly improved until it is completely healed. Phototherapy can be performed on an outpatient basis and can be combined with other treatments.
