HiToP® PNP high frequency electrotherapy device

HiToP® PNP for the treatment of polyneuropathy was developed and patented by the German company GBO Medizintechnik AG. It is designed to enable the patient to apply high-frequency electrotherapy quickly and conveniently in the comfort of their own home.

HiToP® PNP and polyneuropathy

In polyneuropathy, nerve pathways are damaged for various reasons. As a result, nerve impulses are no longer or only partially transmitted and nerve pain occurs. Symptoms may include numbness in the feet, legs or hands. HiToP® PNP is an innovative home device for the treatment of nerve pain such as tingling, burning or numbness.

How exactly does HiToP® PNPwork?

Electrotherapy is well known in traditional medicine and is generally considered a safe therapy. Compared to conventional electrotherapy (TENS), high-frequency electrotherapy uses higher frequencies between 4096 and 32768 Hz. The higher the frequency, the more comfortable the treatment is, because at higher frequencies, the “current sensation” is much less. It is therefore possible to apply higher intensities and achieve stronger and deeper muscle stimulation. After a period of treatment, many patients report improved mobility and a consequent improved quality of life. Patients with varicose veins, metal implants, endoprostheses and open wounds (ulcus cruris) can be treated with the HiToP® PNP device.

HiToP® PNP is easy to use:

The four electrodes are attached to the thighs with Velcro straps and then connected to the device. The intensity is adjusted to feel a slight tingling or tingling sensation during use, or until the muscles visibly contract. The therapy is most successful if it is applied for 60 minutes a day for the first few weeks and then for 30 minutes at least three times a week.

Treatment results

The results of treatment vary from patient to patient. Some notice changes after the first two or three weeks; most patients experience less intense symptoms after three or four months.
