Product description

UV phototherapy is a treatment with ultraviolet rays that dates back to around 1900, when light therapy was used to treat tuberculosis of the skin. Over the last 40 years, a number of photobiological studies have been carried out and numerous scientific publications have been produced highlighting the effectiveness of UV phototherapy in the treatment of skin diseases. This form of therapy has established itself as a proven and therapeutically effective method for the treatment of a wide range of skin diseases such as psoriasis, whiteheads, atopic dermatitis and various eczemas. UV rays have a soothing effect on the immune system. In this way, inflammatory skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis can be alleviated. In the case of scaly skin, radiation can stop the increased production of skin cells and scaling. Dermalight® is a high quality, reliable, German-made, broad-spectrum medical UV radiation device with efficacy based on clinical studies. Irradiation is delivered by electronically controlled radiation modules equipped with special medical fluorescent lamps. UV-B narrowband radiation (305-315 nm) is considered to be particularly effective in the treatment of psoriasis. UV-A (340-400 nm) is particularly effective in atopic dermatitis. The phototherapy treatment is very simple – it takes about 1-5 minutes, depending on the nature of the disease, the patient’s skin type and the dose of irradiation, and is repeated 3-5 times a week. With the right dose and duration of treatment, it is possible to significantly improve the appearance of the skin until it is completely cured. Phototherapy can be performed on an outpatient basis and can be combined with other treatments.
