Fangoparaffin is a mixture of mud and paraffin for treatment and wellness. It is perfect for relaxation and calming, so it is often used and included in various wellness programs of sanatoriums, SPA centers, and rehabilitation institutions.

How does mud therapy work?

Since the mud contains a lot of heat, the body starts to sweat and the blood circulates. In this way, the valuable minerals in the mud can be absorbed very well by the body. The elastic structure of the fangoparaffin is particularly easy to model, and can also be used in areas such as the elbow or knee. Since the mud is heated for up to 30 minutes at 130 °C before each therapy, it is guaranteed that the material is sterile and meets all hygiene conditions. Another advantage is that once the mud is prepared, it can always be used when stored in a heating cabinet.

Indications

Thermotherapy for subacute and chronic rheumatic diseases (inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the joints and spine, soft tissue rheumatism), post-acute diseases after trauma to the musculoskeletal system; circulatory disorders resulting from immobility; pain relief in chronic diseases of the intestines and urinary organs.

Contraindications

Acute inflammatory conditions, acute post-traumatic conditions, hemorrhage, edema, skin vascular circulation disorders, febrile states, sensitive skin areas, large skin injuries and acute skin diseases, heat-induced urticaria, heart weakness (insufficiency), hypertension.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding: no negative effects have been identified, but you should consult your doctor.

Use

•  Unless otherwise instructed by the doctor, the melted mass (approximately 50°C) is applied to the area of ​​the body to be treated.
• Layer thickness: at least 2 cm.
• The patient is wrapped in blankets or towels to enhance the warming effect. This allows the heat to penetrate deep into the tissues and begin to work. At the same time, the minerals in the mud are absorbed through the skin.
• Procedure time: about 30 minutes.
