Description
The SYSTAM DP100+ is a portable device. Depending on the accessories chosen, it can be used for medical inhalations or humidification.
Aerosol therapy
An aerosol is a suspension of solid and liquid particles in a gas or gas mixture (e.g. air). In medicine, an aerosol is a liquid medication that is inhaled by a patient through a device. If the device is used for humidification, the aerosol is water droplets.
How ultrasonic technology works
Under the influence of very high frequency vibrations, the quartz at the bottom of the vessel begins to emit ultrasonic waves. The waves travel through the liquid to the surface of the solution, creating a liquid film of very small water droplets (a cavitation process). The size of the particles formed is proportional to the wavelength of the quartz (depending on the device). And the inhalation density (the amount of particles formed or released) varies depending on the amplitude of the quartz
SYSTEM DP100+ aerosol for therapy
Advantages of aerosol therapy over medical treatment:
– The aerosol immediately reaches the required organ, making the treatment more effective.
– The bronchial epithelium has good biological absorption of substances.
– A lower dose of medication is needed.
– Lower systemic absorption: the likelihood of side effects is minimized.
Indications: asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchial pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchiolitis, winter ailments, ENT diseases, sinusitis, rhinitis.
Suitable for all types of patients: adults, children, infants (except newborns) with respiratory pathologies who require inhalation therapy.
DP100+ in aerosol therapy applies a patented Control'Dose® system, which guarantees maximum efficiency:
– Allows spraying of very small amounts of medication (2 to 8 ml) without dilution.
– Allows spraying with a residual volume of 0,6 ml. During operation, the drug solution remains within the volume created by the controlled dose, and the produced drug particles are delivered to the patient.
– Shortens the duration of the aerosol therapy session.
– Reduces patient participation (especially in young patients).
– Guarantees better treatment control.
Irrigation
Humidification is necessary due to the dryness of the compressed gases used in the hospital (oxygen therapy). It prevents the bronchial mucosa from drying out and at the same time liquefies sputum in the event of bronchial and pulmonary infections. Normally, the patient's upper respiratory tract warms and humidifies the inhaled air. It also retains the heat and moisture contained in the exhaled air. In the case of ventilated patients undergoing anesthesia (with a tracheal tube) or tracheotomy, the upper respiratory tract no longer functions. Long-term exposure to dry compressed gases can cause harmful effects, including local inflammation of the trachea, impaired ciliary function, decreased secretions, decreased body temperature, impaired heart and lung function, increased risk of tracheostomy tube blockage...
Humidification is mainly achieved in the hospital environment by an ultrasonic nebulizer producing aerosols (sprays, microdroplets) with particles ranging from 0,5 to 6 µm, an optimal size to reach both the tracheobronchi and the cavities. For patient comfort, it may also be desirable to warm the compressed gas prior to humidification sessions.
SYSTEM DP100+ for irrigation
Advantages of a single-patient closed system with no direct contact with the device:
– Hygiene is controlled, the risk of contamination is reduced, and patient safety is ensured
– The universal system can be used with many types of bottles (500 ml or 1000 ml with screw cap or with puncture cap), which simplifies inventory management and makes the work of nurses easier
– Saving time and reducing treatment costs
Indications: tracheotomy, tracheostomy, trauma palliative care, neonatology, bronchiolitis, bronchial pneumonia.
The device can be stored on a special mobile stand with a shelf, the height of which is adjustable from 55 cm to 93 cm, and the design is adapted for convenient storage of the device and accessories. Easy to wash and disinfect. Integrated brake system.
