What is PIF management?

The PARI LC Sprint nebulizer has a PIF control system (PIF = Peak Inspiratory Flow). PIF helps control the inhalation of medication. If you inhale too quickly, you will notice a slight resistance - this is a sign to relax your breathing a little and not inhale so hard. If you do not feel any resistance, then you are inhaling correctly and you can be sure that your medication is reaching the lower respiratory tract. Since the PIF control system helps the patient inhale more of the prescribed medication and less of it is wasted during exhalation, this greatly improves the effectiveness of therapy and ensures faster treatment.
